Irish debut confirmed for Ray Moylette

Ray Moylette [2(0)-0] will make his Irish homecoming this Summer.

The Mayo light welterweight turned pro earlier this year under Assassin Boxing, but saw his debut take place in London and his second fight occur in Boston.

Last night Moylette had a third date announced, again in Boston, but it has been today confirmed that he will box in Ireland for the first time in June.

‘Sting Ray’ has been added to the third Red Corner Promotions show – ‘For Honour & Pride’ on Saturday June 24th at the National Stadium in Dublin.

It is a return to the venue where the former top amateur won an Elite Senior title back in 2010, and a venue which was regularly taken over by large swathes of Mayo people whenever Moylette was in action.

The fight date, of course, is dependent on the Celtic Warriors Gym puncher coming through his May 13th Murphys Boxing date unscathed.

An opponent for the European gold medalist will be announced soon.

Moylette joins Victor Rabei, Craig O’Brien, and Thomas Finnegan on the bill which is co-headlined by two Irish title fights – with the Islandeady man’s Assassin stablemate Paddy McDonagh taking on his Celtic Warriors gym-mate Stevie Collins for the light heavyweight belt, and another gym-mate in Luke Keeler taking on Darren Cruise for the middleweight strap.
