Irish Canelo looking for KO on massive Khan card tonight

THE ‘Irish Canelo’ Noel Murphy is looking for a knock out victory on the massive Premier Boxing Champions Khan-Algieri undercard in Brooklyn tonight( Friday).

The Leesider Lefty trades leather for only the second time as a pro, but the Lou DiBella signed prospect, who tipped the scales at 144.6 lbs yesterday, is looking to impress against Mike Black on the high profile card.

“Definitely, I hope to get the knockout,” the Cork man told the Register-Star

It doesn’t get much more exciting than a TV fight on a PBC card at the the Barclays Center for a 20 year old fight novice, but Murphy wants to be calmness personified tonight.

Over exuberance, he claims had a negative affect on his pro debut and the southpaw is keen to ensure he can tap into his sizeable support, yet remain relaxed and focused on the job at hand.

“I love having a crowd behind me. This fight, I’m going to be more relaxed and not fight for the crowd as much,” he said. “In my pro debut, the minute I heard the roar of the crowd, I wanted to go in and start swinging. This time, I am going to be more relaxed, take my time and hopefully get the knockout.”

The four round bout is scheduled to be the second fight of the night. The first bout begins at 6:15 p.m. and the televised portion of the event begins at 9 p.m. on Spike TV.
