Ireland name strong squad for India International in Mayo


Ireland have named a strong squad for their Elite men’s international fixture versus India next weekend.

A ten-man Irish team will take on the Asian powerhouse at the Royal Theatre in Castlebar, Mayo on Saturday May 26th.

Eight Irish Elite champions feature in the squad, including Commonwealth silver and European bronze medalists Kurt Walker and Brendan Irvine.

Dean Gardiner, Kirill Afanasev, Michael Nevin, Kieran Molloy, and George Bates will all be in action having featured on the Irish tour of America back in March while Tony Browne makes his return to the ring.

There are also Irish Elite debuts for young stars Conor Quinn and Kenneth Doyle.

The India squad will be confirmed shortly.

Tickets for the Ireland v India Elite international are priced at €10 for adults and €5 for U/15s and will be available at the door.

The Irish women’s team previously faced India at the National Stadium in Dublin last September,
