Immortalized in art- brilliant Katie Taylor mural pops up on Dublin pub wall

It’s something Belfast fighters are more than used to, indeed Michael Conlan can boast three murals, but now possibly the countries most decorated boxer has been honoured in art form.

A Katie Taylor mural of has popped up in Dublin much to the delight of fight fans and indeed just fans of the fighter and her unprecedented success.

The Bray native has been celebrated with an incredible tribute in Phibsborough.

The mural first appeared over the weekend and was created by artist Emmalene Blake who shared the work on Instagram captioning the post: ‘Undisputed!’

The mural was painted and revealed in the wake of the Olympic gold medal winners recent pro success.

Having won everything on offer in the amateur game the 32 year old conquered her chosen division in the pro ranks in just 14 fights.

Taylor defeated Delfine Persoon at Madison Square Garden to add the WBC world title and Ring Magazine belt to the WBA, IBF and WBO straps she had already won.

The victory saw the Matchroom fighter become the first Irish fighter to unify a division since the inception of the four belt era.

The undefeated pro-pugilist  received a raucous welcome at the Airport and in her native Bray, where there is talk of erecting a statue in her honour.

The humble and fuss free Taylor wasn’t overly keen on the statue ideal, but surely will have no qualms with the mural now visible near Dublin’s city centre.
