Homecoming fight date set for Waterford’s Rohan Date

Waterford welter Rohan Date [2(2)-0] will have an Irish homecoming later this year.

The 23 year old Dubai-based pro announced today that he will feature on the first It’s A Bout Boxing Ireland card, Táimid Laochra, at the National Stadium on Saturday April 1st.

The former St Paul’s amateur and underage Irish champion turned professional in the United Arab Emirates last year, scoring a knockout over Gerald Dah and a dominant points win against Stephen Okine.

The card in just over six weeks team will be headlined by Monaghan super flyweight Christina McMahon in a major fight, with support from Gerard Whitehouse and Stephen Carroll. There will also be professional debuts for Regan Buckley, Keane McMahon, John Joyce, Dylan McDonagh, and Date’s former amateur club mate Barry Barnes.
