Hearn: Frampton should pray Quigg beats Kiko Martinez

EDDIE Hearn says Carl Frampton should pray Scott Quigg beats Kiko Martinez in Manchester on July 18.

The Matchroom boss is ready to risk Quigg’s unbeaten record against the man Frampton dethroned to claim the IBF World crown with most predicting the big punching former World champ and four time European champ will at the very least cause the Bury man major problems.

Frampton, who was in talks to fight the Joe Gallagher trained fighter on the July 18 date before negotiations fell through, believes his former foe will prove too good for Quigg. Indeed, the Belfast Cyclone promoted star has that special affinity only two fighters that shared 12 hard rounds can have with Martinez and in most circumstances it would be safe to say he would be cheering for his former foe.

However, Hearn who offered ‘The Jackal’ £1.5 million to trade leather with Quigg, claims Frampton should become a Quigg fan for the night. The Matchroom boss warns a Quigg defeat could put paid to a massive domestic showdown and a massive Frampton pay day.

“I saw Carl Frampton tweet this morning that if Scott Quigg fights Kiko Marteniz ten he is gonna get knocked out. Really mate? You better cross your fingers he doesn’t because its gonna cost you a couple of million quid and you are gonna be kicking yourself for the rest of your life,” Hearn told IFL TV.
