Hatton tells Irish Media Frampton will become a World champion soon

IT won’t be long until Carl Frampton is the owner of one of the super bantamweight World titles, claims Ricky Hatton

Watching Frampton dismantle French Jermey Parodi puncher within four rounds further convinced ‘The Hitman’ that Barry McGuigan’s protege has what it takes to reach the top.
Indeed, Hatton believes the Belfast star is capable of moving up the gears and is on the verge of becoming a World champion.

“He is getting better with every fight. His last performance against Jeremy Parodi was not about who he beat – but the way he did it. It was impressive and when you are blowing away opponents at the that level, it shows you he has another three or four gears in him,” Hatton said in Dublin on Saturday night.

“There is no doubt in my mind that he can win a world title. He is a talented kid who is getting better and better all the time. Hopefully Ryan Burnett can jump on his coat tails and gain exposure on Carl’s cards.”
Frampton returns to the ring on Friday April 4 on an exciting ‘This is Belfast’ fight card and traded leather with former super flyweight world champion Hugo Cazares for the right to challenge WBA belt holder Leo Santa Cruz. And Hatton is confident ‘The Jackal’ will win on the Cyclone Promotions Card, before going on to achieve is life time World title ambition.

“That is a fight I think he will win,” said Hatton. “There are no easy fights at this level but he is on the verge of winning a World title and I believe he will win a World title,“ added the Hitman before praising the support he received in the National Stadium as he worked Sonny Upton’s corner on the Nowhere2Hyde Show.
