Harvey hunting winning ways

Michael Harvey plans to turn his career around starting with victory in the Holiday Inn in Belfast this Saturday night.

The 25 year old has one just once in five paid outings but is looking to become a born again boxer by transforming a loosing record into a winning one starting with victory over Radoslav Mitev this weekend.

Harvey has now set his sights on domestic titles and believes working under the guidance of Bernardo Checa will help him claim either the British or Irish titles. Checa has helped Harvey see the errors of his boxing ways and has him on the title glory path according to Harvey.

I am looking for win to turn my career round this weekend, Harvey told www.irish-boxing.com.

I have started training with Bernardo Checa and he is a good motivator. He has really lifted my confidence, he added before revealing he has no committed to putting more effort in to his preparations. My diets is a lot better now too. The fights with Santino Caruna and Stephen Russell I took at 2 weeks notice. Both times felt weak as I had to loose a stone before them. I am maintaining my shape now and im walking around under 10 stone.

I want to win a British or Irish title at either superfeather or lightweight. I would also love something at a higher level. Maybe a World, Commonwealth or European title fight but I havent a promoter or someone with money backing me so hard to get the right fights.

A lack of patience as well as the aforementioned lack of preparation time proved Harveys downfall in the past and he is fast learning patience is a virtue you need in pro boxing.

I still train with Alan Wilton at nights and we have been working on my defence. Working on not getting excited an rushing in when I hurt a guy. I have to learn take my time as I got caught in my debut and rematch with Michael Devine when both times I was winning.
