Gary O’Sullivan and Eubank Jr to fight in Wembley in May

GARY ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan will fight Chris Eubank Jr at Wembley in May, according to reports.

O’Sullivan will finally get to settle his differences with the English puncher, whilst been afforded the opportunity to become WBA Interim World middleweight champion at Wembley Arena.

The fight, which looks set to be announced at a press conference as early as this week, looks set to play out on a card that will also include Billy Joe Saunders, who has out pointed both O’Sullivan and Eubnak Jr.

The former British and European middleweight champ is mandatory for Andy Lee’s WBO middleweight title, but stepped aside to allow the Limerick man to defend against Peter Quillin. Promoter Frank Warren is hoping Saunders can claim the WBO crown and he can make a massive Saunders Eubank Jr rematch, but ‘Spike’ and Lee will be confident of putting a spanner in the works of that plan.

Cork middleweight ‘Spike’ has been targeting a clash with Eubank Jr for over a year and has promised to knock out the son of the man Steve Collins beat to become World champion 20 years ago.
