Heavyweight contender Hughie Fury [20(10)-0] has followed the path of gym-mate Con Sheehan and joined Macklin’s Gym Marbella.

Johnney Roye, the man behind MGM Manchester, will join the team of the 22 year old big man, alongside father and head coach Peter Fury.

Fury is World ranked by both the WBO (#5) and the IBF (#14), and looks set to be in the mix for World titles next year in a division which has been blown wide open by his cousin Tyson.

The 2012 World Youth champion was in Belfast over the weekend to support his stablemate Sheehan, who fought on the Boxnation ‘Homecoming’ card at the Titanic Exhibition Centre where he defeated Kamil Sokolowski over eight rounds.

Fury’s next fight, his first since his recovery from Acne Conglobata is rumoured to be taking place on December 10th, with Sheehan set to feature on the undercard.
