Fury to challenge for Klitschko’s heavyweight crown

FORMER Irish Champion Tyson Fury will challenge Ukrainian legend Wladimir Klitschko on October 24th in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Manchester-born Fury will attempt to wrest Klitschko’s WBA, WBO, and IBF titles from his grasp at the 55,000+ capacity Espirit Arena.

The former Irish champion is being viewed as one of the toughest tests of Klitschko’s fifteen reign at the pinnacle of boxing’s blue riband division. 26 year old Fury [24(18)-0] holds a three inch height advantage over Klitschko [64(53)-3(3)] as well as being thirteen years younger.

WBA-ordered purse bids were intended to decide the venue of the bout, but a deal was agreed between the two camps shortly before these were made at WBA headquarters today in Panama City.
