Frampton promises to beat confident ‘loud mouth Yank’ Avalos convincingly

CALIFORNIA native Chris Avalos rode into Belfast from the Wild West shooting from the mouth on Thursday.

The American mandatory challenger showed little respect for the World champion and promised to stop the Irish fight hero within six.

Frampton, however, promised to send the American and the horse he rode in on back to the Wild Wild West of America with a nice helping of humble pie shoved down his throat.

‘The Jackal’ promised a knock out of his own in the Odyssey Arena on February 28 and said he will beat the ‘yank’ in convincing fashion.

“I am going to win, and it will be by knockout,” Frampton told RTE.

“I can guarantee I am going to beat Chris Avalos convincingly. He’s a bit of a gonch, he likes to run his mouth. A Yank, you know, that’s what they’re like!”

The 27 year old undefeated IBF super bantamweight champion of the World did admit Avalos has talent. However, Frampton is adamant the respected operator hasn’t faced anyone of his calibre just yet.

“He’s a good fighter. He’s aggressive. It’s going to be a tough fight. He’s the mandatory [challenger] for the title. He deserves to be in that position.

“He’s also the mandatory for the WBO title and I think he’s highly ranked with the WBA as well so he’s a very capable fighter. He’s a good puncher, with a good knockout percentage, but he’s been beaten twice before and he still hasn’t fought anyone as good as me. That’s going to be the difference on the night.”
