First major fight confirmed for inaugural Assassin Promotions show

The first major fight has been confirmed for the next Dublin show.

Assassin Promotions run their inaugural card at the National Basketball Arena on Saturday October 6th and have tonight confirmed a cracking match-up for the main part of the ‘Rise Again’ card.

Cork super middleweight Vladimir Belujsky [5(5)-1(0)-1] will take on Liverpool’s Nick Quigley [15(3)-4(2)] over eight rounds in what looks to be a guaranteed war between two all-action fighters – pitting notable power against relentless workrate.

‘The Slovak Rebel’ Belujsky had, earlier this week, contacted Irish-Boxing.com to express his frustration at his fellow pros for refusing offers to fight him and the 22-year-old has been rewarded with a big fight within a matter of days.

Quigley, a Prizefighter runner-up and English title challenger will be more than familiar to Irish fans following his exciting fire-fight loss to Spike O’Sullivan last September. Following this he entered Ireland’s Last Man Standing in March where he was eliminated in the quarter-finals by eventual runner-up Jack Cullen – with Belujsky being eliminated by winner Roy Sheahan on the other side of the draw.

With 29-year-old Quigley’s grandfather hailing from Wexford, it is hoped that the fight will be sanctioned for the BUI Celtic title – with Assassin currently in the process of securing this status.

The card in seven weeks time will feature further domestic match-ups and also boasts an undercard which includes Allan Phelan, Thomas Finnegan, Cillian Reardon, JJ McDonagh, Craig McCarthy, Owen Duffy, John Joyce, Johnny Corcoran, and debutant Francy Luzoho.
