Exciting young talent Hynes turns pro
Exciting young Irish talent Caoimhin Hynes has ditched vest and turned pro.
The Holy Trinity graduate revealed he penned a deal with Frank Warren Promotions yesterday.
The Belfast native was rumoured to be exploring pro options over the last two years but having registered a surprise Irish Elite title with up at light-heavyweight earlier this year he was said to be exploring Toyko 2020 options.
Hynes, who numerous Ulster and Irish titles at various age levels, will train in the Ibox Gym in Bromley with Al Smith and Eddie Lam manning his corner.
The 21 year old, who has WSB experience and will no doubt be an exciting addition to the Irish pro ranks, claims the move to the pros has come at the right time.
“Since I was seven years old it’s been a dream of mine to turn professional and I think I’m at the right stage of my career. It’s the perfect timing,” he said.
“I’ve won everything from junior level to senior level in Irish boxing and now it’s time for a new challenge.
“I just want to thank a couple of people who have helped me to get to this stage of my career. Without doubt I wouldn’t be where I am today without Holy Trinity boxing club – not only have the coaches been trainers to me, they’ve been advisers/father figures and people I could trust.
“It’s been an unreal 14 years and I have memories that will last me a lifetime, so a big thank you to Michael Hawkins sr, Michael jr, Peter Brady, Drew Welsh and Harry Hawkins.
“I want to thank my friends and family for always sticking by me, especially the last year when it’s been my hardest. A big thank you to my girlfriend and her mum and dad, they have played a big part in my life the last year-and-a-half. Without Cáoife I’m not sure where I would be in life, let alone boxing.
“I’m excited to get started and hopefully will have some more news soon.”
