Eubank to warm up for possible Spike clash with routine opponent

Chris Eubank Jr (19-1, 14ko) will warm up for a possible clash with Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan with a clash with Tony Jeter on October 24.

Matchroom and Eddie Hearn are trying to make Eubank Jr and O’Sullivan for December 12 on the undercard of Anthony Joshua versus Dillian Whyte’s eagerly anticipated heavyweight dust up.

O’Sullivan, who fights in America on October 10, told Irish-boxing.com he is hopeful the bout can be made and is looking forward to knocking out the WBA Interim World champion if a deal can be made.

If the clash is agreed to Eubank will enter it on the back of a clash with 39 year old American Jeter (20-4-1, 14ko).

The veteran American provides the opposition for his Matchroom debut, serving as the chief support to October 24th’s Kell Brook/Diego Chaves welterweight title fight in Sheffield.

The American has boxed just twice in the last two years and his sole step up in class, against Danish contender Patrick Nielsen, resulted in a 2nd round stoppage.

The fight should present as nothing but routine business for the Adam Booth trained Eubank.
