By IABA Press officer Bernard O’Neill

Steven Donnelly (2-0-2) has moved into third spot in the individual World Series of Boxing (WSB) rankings table following his convincing over Brian Ceballa of the USA Knockouts in Miami last weekend.

The All Saints BC welter, lining out for the Hussars of Poland, beat Ceballa on a unanimous decision. Donnelly was the only boxer to win for the Polish side in Florida on a night when the visitors went down to a 4-1 defeat to the Americans.

Paddy Barnes (3-0-3) and Michael Conlan (2-1-3), both of whom will line out for Italia Thunder in Kazakhstan this weekend, are in joint 1st and 2nd position in the light-fly and bantam tables.

The top two ranked boxers in the bantam and welter classes at the end of the regular WSB group season in April will qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympics.

The top ranked light-fly will book a ticket for the 31st Olympiad. Italia Thunder are slated to meet the Astana Arlans of Kazakhstan in Kazakhstan on Saturday. Barnes and Conlan will both be between the ropes for the Italian side as the race for Olympic places heats up in the WSB.
