Jason Quigley [11(9)-0] has had his first taste of the disappointments so prevalent in the pro game.

The Donegal middleweight has blasted his way into the World rankings after just 11 fights and has had a trouble-free start to the pro life.

However he. for the first time since ditching the vest, has had to pull out of a fight card after suffering an unspecified injury.

More disappointing than missing the chance to push his unbeaten record to 12 fights is the fact he now won’t get the chance to fight on the massive Liam Smith v Canelo Alvarez undercard at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on September 17th.

It is a blow considering the numbers and interest Canelo generates, but Quigley seemed upbeat when breaking the news on social media.

“My fight on September 17th in Texas is off due to injury. These things happen I’m a boxer we need to be ready for these hurdles on our journey to the top.”

“I’m young, fresh, and hungry. I will be back in the ring real soon doing my thing ,minor bump on the road to the top, sorry to all my fans and supporters everywhere and all that had flights tickets and everything got from Ireland.”

“I will make it up to you all.”
