Dee Walsh and Terry Maughan to fight for vacant Irish light middleweight title

DEE ‘Waldo’ Walsh and Terry Maughan will trade leather for the vacant Irish light middleweight title in Belfast on November 22.

The domestic dust up will top ‘The Return of the Crazy Gang’ fight card that includes Gerard Healy, James Tennyson, Daniel McShane, Allan Donnellan, Paul Hyland Jr and Darren Cruise and is set for the Devinish Complex.

Unbeaten Walsh has been eyeing up a title tilt since he returned after nearly two years out last May and will be looking to secure his first major title and move to 9-0 next month.

Nothingham based fighter of Galway heritage Maughan will make his Irish debut on the card and will hope to celebrate with a significant title win.

The light middleweight title has proved the most for Irish title of late. Peter McDonagh, who recently vacated, defeated John Hutchinson for it earlier this year after the oldest every Irish Champion Lee Murtagh retired. Murtagh, the first light middle champ since Neil Sinclair, won the strap with victory over Joe Hillerby and successfully defended it against Willie Thompson.
