On This Day: November 9th
1996: Steve Collins defended his WBO super middleweight World title for a fifth time with a rematch victory over Nigel Benn. The pair had fought that July, with Benn pulling out during the fourth after injuring his ankle. The rematch took place at the NYNEX Arena in Manchester and saw Collins dominate, forcing an admittedly faded Benn to retire on his stool after the sixth round.
