Return Date- Waterford banger returns to venue of disappointing result

Rohan Date will be looking to get back to winning ways as early as September 29.

The Waterford punchers winning and knockout streak were halted last time out, but he returns to the venue of his ‘draw deal’ in a matter of weeks as he looks to regain the substantail momemtum he was building.

The Dubai based Waterford man was held to a draw against fellow unbeaten prospect Wes Smith in early August.

A four-rounder on a Siesta show in Bracknell, Daté looked to have done enough but a strong finish from his Cornish opponent saw the bout ruled a somewhat dubious draw.

Daté, and many others, felt he did enough to win. The 25 year old Welterweight returns to the venue in less than a week against a yet to be confirmed opponent and will be keen to register a fifth pro win.

Speaking about his most recent bout the Déise fighter told Irish-boxing.com.

“After watching it, I think I won more comfortably then I thought I did on the night”

Regardless of the result it appears Date impressed as he has been invited back by the promoter and will fight on the Siesta promoted show.
