Conor McGregor wants Floyd Mayweather rematch – believes he would win

Conor McGregor [0-1(1)] would like to face Floyd Mayweather in a rematch – and is confident he would win this time.

The Dublin mixed martial artist made the switch to boxing last month for a mega-money fight in Las Vegas with five-weight champion Mayweather [50(27)-0].

Following some early success at the T-Mobile Arena whilst Mayweather sized him up, McGregor was dominated and stopped standing in the tenth round.

The Crumlin light middleweight is believed to have raked in around $100,000,000 from the fight and looked likely to return to fighting under the banner of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

However, the 29 year old believes that a rematch against Mayweather could materialise – noting the American’s rumoured tax problems.

Speaking at an event in Glasgow last night, McGregor outlined how “I’m not going to start trying to calling him out. Now, I’ll sit back at a distance. Let’s see how he manages this round of money.”

“I’m thinking, the tax bill of this last fight, the tax bill off his previous bill, and then his good investments, I think I could be getting a call anytime soon to go again and I f*cking want to.”

McGregor claims that he would win a rematch due to the lessons learnt from the first fight.

The Notorious described how “I got beat. I got beat under that rule set. I’m not going to start giving off like that. I accepted the rules, and I was beat in the rules.

“I know if I went another go with him under boxing rules I’d get that win, I know that, I know I could do it in the first place.”

“He fought completely differently than he usually fights, he couldn’t figure out what I was doing early on. And that’s it. I feel with the lessons I learned from that first fight, if I had another go around, I’d get it.”
