Conor McGregor sparring with Declan Geraghty ahead of Diaz rematch

UFC superstar Conor McGregor has been getting the rounds in with former Crumlin BC gym-mate Declan Geraghty ahead of his massive rematch with Nate Diaz on August 2nd on the UFC 202 PPV card in Las Vegas.

Geraghty, who won in a tough learning fight last weekend with Eusebio Osejo, has been helping ‘The Notorious’ with technical sparring in Straight Blast Gym ahead of the rematch with Stockton’s Diaz.

Indeed, like the outspoken American, Geraghty is an outside fighting southpaw and perfect preparation for the bout at the MGM Grand Arena.

McGregor, who in the past has trained in Paschal Collins’s Celtic Warriors Gym as well as sparring with Pajo Hyland in a hit viral video, lost in his first fight with Diaz back in March. The Dubliner, who was this week named by Forbes as one of the 100 top earning athletes in the World, was submitted by Diaz in the second round of their lightweight (170lbs) bout at UFC 196.

In Geraghty, McGregor is training with one of Ireland’s most technically skilled boxers who claimed EU silver during his amateur career. The Crumlin superstar’s boxing skills are almost unparralled in the realm of mixed martial arts, and his experience with Geraghty should help further hone his pugilistic prowess.

Following their session today Geraghty posted the following message to social media, warning Diaz:
