Conor McGregor sparring with another Irish boxer ahead of Diaz rematch

Following a weekend spent sparring with former Crumlin clubmate Declan Geraghty, UFC superstar Conor McGregor enlisted the help of another Irish boxer as he seeks to win getback to winning ways against Nate Diaz.

This time McGregor has been sharing the ring with National Elite runner-up Conor Wallace.

Newry’s Wallace has just returned from a training camp in Azerbaijan, and the Tokyo 2020 hopeful has been helping the MMA star further hone his boxing skills.

The Dubliner was submitted by Stockton’s Diaz in the second round of their lightweight (170lbs) bout at UFC 196 in March and the outspoken duo renew acquaintances on UFC 202 on August 20th in Las Vegas.

Like Diaz, Wallace is a long outside southpaw and had a huge height advantage over the UFC featherweight champion

Afterwards the Ulster youngster commented that he was “privileged to be given the opportunity to help him [McGregor] with his preparation for Nate Diaz,” and described the Crumlin man as a “very skillful operator.”
