Confident Callum Bradley to continue backing up big talk in tough second outing

Callum Bradley [1(0)-0] certainly made people sit up and take notice on his debut back in March – delighting some very loud fans.

Nestled in right before the Luke Keeler v Conrad Cummings main event at the Ulster Hall, the über-cool Omagh featherweight put in a slick performance despite a rabid atmosphere and a long lay-off.

The 20-year-old backed up some confident pre-fight talk and underlined his status as a top prospect.

Bradley returns to the Ulster Hall tomorrow night [Friday May 17th] and, while he won’t be as prominent this time round, the Tyrone youngster is aiming to impress again in a tough fight that has boxing hardcores quite intrigued.

“The atmosphere last time was brilliant,I loved it,” he recalled when speaking to Irish-Boxing.com ahead of his upcoming fight with noted Nicaraguan journeyman Rafael Castillo.

“But it doesn’t matter whos there or what time I’m on, it won’t affect my focus.”

“I’ll always put on a great performance and be fully focused at the task ahead.”

It’s an encouragingly quick turnaround for the Ulster prospect who is building early momentum.

Bradley outlined how “my team and everyone around me thought I boxed good and very smart but there’s always room for improvement.”

“The last seven weeks have been great, I’ve been back running on the roads after 6months with a knee injury which is a bonus.”

“I’ve been training hard, and I’ve also been sparring with Marco [McCullough] for his fight with Deco [Geraghty].”

In his second four-rounder Bradley has been presented with a genuine test in Castillo who has given super feathers James Tennyson and Feargal McCrory good fights previously.

“Yeah, I’m fighting a tough guy,” he notes.

“I’ve watched bits on him and heard about him, he’s very tough and can take a punch but we will see a great performance from me on Friday night.”

“Hit and don’t get hit is the name of the game and that’s what I plan on doing, 2-0, onwards and upwards
