Comeback date announced for John Joe Nevin

A return to the ring has been confirmed for John Joe Nevin.

The 2012 Olympic silver medalist and two-time World Championships bronze-winner has been out of action for over a year, but will return to the ring this month.

It has been announced that Nevin will feature on a card in London on Friday September 29th in London.

The Mullingar Shuffler will box in a six-round contest on a Steve Wraith Promotions bill at the Tolworth Recreational Centre at the end of the month as he looks to finally start building some momentum in his career.

It will be just the second time that Nevin has fought as a pro on this side of the Atlantic, previously stopping Jack Heath in Dublin in November 2014/

Nevin turned pro in Philidelphia in 2014, but has suffered a stop-start career, with promotional and personal problems stunting his progress. The stylish super featherweight has racked up an eight-fight unbeaten record, with four stoppages, but last fought in August of 2016.

The card in London also features Billy Allington, Eli Green, Darren Codona, George Lamport, Nick Weeb, Jack Mulowayi, Tony Vincent, Bobby Woods, and Martin Foru.
