CNN documentary to bring Katie Taylor to a new audience

Major American Network CNN are set to bring the Katie Taylor story to a whole new audience.

The news-based station will air a documentary which covers the unique and inspiring story of Ireland’s greatest ever athlete this coming Saturday.

The 30-minute segment is not to be mixed up with the brilliant Ross Whittaker’s ‘Katie’ feature documentary, which was aired in cinemas and is now available to watch on Netflix.

CNN have produced their own piece ‘Katie Taylor: A Fighter’s Tale’ which is being billed as special edition of the Connect The World series they regular air.

The special feature will be broadcast across all of CNN’s channels both Stateside and across the world.

It’s a massive opportunity for the already popular fighter to raise her profile, increase her popularity and win new fans.

It should go a long way to making the Olympic gold medal winner a bigger name than she already is and could prove another global boost for female fighting.

CNN International will broadcast the documentary and viewers with Sky and Virgin can watch it their.

The viewing times in Ireland are as follows:

Saturday: 13:30, 21:30;
Sunday: 03:30, 16:30;
Monday: 03:30, 08:30;
Tuesday: 17:30

In terms of when Taylor can be seen in the ring again remains to be revealed. The DAZN-allied undisputed world champion is currently training for an Autumn return.

However, an opponent has yet to be confirmed. A fight with Amanda Serrano has been ruled out after the seven weight world champ signed to fight Irish American Heather Hardy and the rematch with Delfine Persoon is being held for next year.

A move up in weight looks the most likely as Team Taylor have been talking about making history.

Former foe and now two belt light welterweight champion Jessica McCaskill is being mentioned in certain quarters. Her coach and manager Rick Ramos told Irish-boxing.com they would do the fight next if the money was right, but it’s more likely that fight will be held for a possible light welterweight undisputed clash.
