Chris Eubank has warned Floyd Mayweather against underestimating the power of the Irish spirit.

The former five-weight World champion is a massive favourite going in to his mega money August 26th clash with Dublin’s UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

McGregor will be making his professional boxing debut in the fight at the T-Mobile Arena and a win for ‘The Notorious’ would arguably be the biggest upset result in the history of sport.

British fight legend Eubank seems, like most, to believe Mayweather [49(26)-0] should have the skill set to win, but claims that ‘Irish spirit’ gives McGregor a chance.

Eubank himself has experience of losing out to an Irish underdog, as Steve Collins took his 0 and his WBO super middleweight title on a famous night in 1995 before losing again in an immediate rematch..

Since those defeats the Brighton man has always been full of praise for the determination, desire and stubbornness of ‘The Celtic Warrior’.

Indeed, he often reveals he has used Collins win as proof that determination is a key ingredient to success and overcoming the odds.

Collins has in the past found that an insult, stressing it overlooks his skill set and his tactical ability, but Eubank views spirit as such a strong trait that he has warned ‘Money’ against it ahead of the ‘180 Million Dollar Dance.’

Eubank outlined his viewpoint saying “listen, ‘circus’- that projects entertainment. We all want to be entertained. The reason why this is so very entertaining to a former champion of my standing is because I know the Irish spirit is never to be underestimated.”

“I don’t care about the man’s ability, if the man is Irish he is dangerous. I found that out to my cost in my career. ‘The Celtic Warrior’ you can not underestimate these people, they are a wonderful people.”
