Cazares goes head to head with Frampton and declares War

IT wasn’t quite pleasantries instead of punches when Hugo Cazares and Carl Frampton sized each other up for the first time in Belfast yesterday.

Cazares arrived in the ‘Jackal’s’ home town and talked a good fight a week before the pair battle it out for the right to challenge WBC super bantamweight champion Leo Santa Cruz.

The former two weight World champion went head to head with the former European champion and promised it will be head to fist in the Odyssey next Friday.

“It’s going to be a war, it has to be war. Frampton has to come and fight in front of his home fans – I’m ready for the war because every day in Mexico is a war,

“I was young once and I was unbeaten once too,” he added.

“Over the years I have gained a lot of experience and the experience is what is necessary to beat Carl. Carl is a great fighter, he’s a very complete fighter. I’ve seen a couple of videos of him and he’s very strong. He has a lot of ability and it’s going to be a great fight.

This might be Belfast, Frampton’s home town, but the Mexican claims he always feels at home in the ring. With 9000 passionate and vocal fight fans behind Frampton this might prove different to his other adventures on the road, but Cazares claims he won’t be intimidated.

“I won’t be intimidated at all. I’ve fought in several different places – Japan, Puerto Rico and the United States. I’ll feel like I’m at home.”
