Cazares confident he can derail Frampton’s World title plans

HUGO Cazares admits the odds are stacked against him, but claims that won’t stop him hitting the jackpot and securing a bout with WBC World champion Leo Santa Cruz at Carl Frampton’s expense.

The Mexican, a former World champion at super flyweight, travels to the Belfast full confidence on April 4, despite bemoaning the weather and highlighting the Jackal Army as a big Frampton advantage, and is determined to win the world title eliminator to set up a Mexican melie with Cruz.

Cazares has proved himself a road warrior securing wins in America and Puerto Rico as well as winning World title fights in Japan and he is confident he has the ability to end Frampton’s journey to World title success.

“We know the odds we are facing in Northern Ireland. The people, the weather, the time and especially the opponent. But it is something that I have faced before and there is no reason it has to be different this time. We are very confident with the work we have done and in my abilities. We are very confident we will get the ticket to challenge for another world title and set up a war between Mexicans.”
