Carl Frampton-Leo Santa Cruz Purse Totals

Carl Frampton will earn $500,000 (approximately £375,000/€445,000) for his fight tonight – along with an undisclosed amount of money from television station Boxnation, who will air his clash Leo Santa Cruz in Britain and Ireland.

These figures are according to ESPN Boxing’s Dan Rafael.

Defending WBA featherweight champ Santa Cruz will pocket $1,000,000 (approximately £760,000/€890,000) for the bout at the Barclays Centre in New York.

The fight will be aired on primetime cable in the U.S on the Showtime network.

Frampton is seeking to become only the second ever Irishman, after Steve Collins, to win World titles in two weight divisions. This quest comes less than six months after defeating Scott Quigg and becoming the first Irishman to unify major belts.

While his purse for the fight is obviously a substantial sum, it pales in comparison to the seven-figure pay-out he received fighting Scott Quigg – showing perhaps the strength of the pay-per-view model, as well as the unprecedented hype surrounding the fight.
