Calm Carl Frampton warns Luke Jackson of Windsor Roar

Windsor Park represents Heaven for Carl Frampton [25(14)-1(0)] but could be Hell for his opponent on Saturday suggests the former two-weight world champion.

Luke Jackson, who fights ‘The Jackal’ in the Belfast football stadium this weekend, hasn’t done much to endear himself to one of the most famous set of fight fans in world boxing.

Indeed, after questioning their man on numerous occasions, the loyal, partisan, and noisy ‘Jackal Army’ will be baying for blood come glove off time on Saturday night.

It should prove an Odyssey on steroids scenario and an atmosphere the Belfast fighter will revel in.

Frampton warns that, not only will it be nothing like Jackson [16(7)-0] has experienced before, it will be an atmosphere and reception so unique the Tasmanian can’t even imagine what it’s like.

“This is going to be really hostile – it won’t be people sitting and clapping a good shot,” warned Frampton

“This is going to be completely different. I don’t know what he’s expecting but this is going to be different.”

“It’s going to be very, very noisy and something he’s never experienced before,” he added before revealing the Olympian hasn’t enraged him to the frenzied degree that some think.

“He’s said a few things that have got under my skin but that’s it. It’s hardly a grudge match, they’ve been minor.”

Emotions will still no doubt be high for the 31-year-old fan favourite as realizes a boxing dream and fights at the home of Northern Ireland football in front of 25,000 fans, but he is adamant he will have what it takes to remain focused on securing a win that should lead to a an IBF world title fight with Leeds champion Josh Warrington.

“There seems to be a bit more of a buzz around the city this time. It’s important not to get too carried away with things. But it’s Windsor Park and I’m very, very proud.”
