Cacace teams up with old Emerald team mate as he prepares to sparkle in British title fight

Anthony Cacace has teamed up with his old Emerald Warriors Gym mates as he plots a course to become Ireland’s next boxing gem.

The Belfast talent has been not so patiently waiting for a shot at British featheweight champion Martin J Ward, but looks set to get a tilt that has been on the cards for nearly a year now and the chance to show a massive audience his talents in June.

The Pat Magee-managed southpaw, who is noted within boxing circles for both panache and power, is preparing for what could prove a career changing fight with new coach Ray Ginley.

Ginley, who pushed his record to 6-0 with four knockouts before hanging up his gloves at the tender age of 21 back in 2014, is now a coach and has been putting a fighter, who was his stable mate alongside the likes of Mark Ginley, Gerard Healy, Tyrone McKenna, Joe Hillerby and indeed Willie ‘Big Bang’ Casey in the old Emerald era, through his paces.

Cacace recently worked with Shane McGuigan before teaming up with Brian Magee explained to Belfast Live.

“I am training away with Ray [Ginley] and I couldn’t be happier. We have a great team of lads and everyone is 110 per cent.”
