Byrne and Gallagher to compete in Prizefighter the Welterweights

Dublin’s Dean Byrne and Belfast’s Paddy Gallagher will provide  Irish interest in the latest edition of the exciting Prizefighter series.

The former Wild Card puncher and the Commonwealth Gold medallist will compete in Prizefighter the Welterweights IV in the York Hall on April 4.

The duo will be hoping to emulate  Martin Rogan, Willie Casey and Eamonn O’Kane as Irish winners of the career changing tournament.

Former British Light Middleweight title challenger Eric Ochieng and Midlands Area champion Eggington are the other names confirmed for the 33rd edition of Matchroom Sport’s eight-man, one night tournaments.

Speaking about the latest instalment of Prizefighter Eddie Hearn said,

“The last Welterweight Prizefighter was one of the best of the entire series, and we expect more drama on April 5,” said Hearn. “The first four fighters in the mix are all strong contenders as we look to select the final four entrants from around 20 worthy applicants.”
