Boxing Ireland Promotions team up with Pete Taylor for major quadruple signing

In a major development for Dublin boxing, four new fighters have signed up with Boxing Ireland Promotions, sheparding in a new era for the outfit.

The team behind the popular Celtic Clash series have brought on board a quartet of fighters from Pete Taylor’s stable at the Colosseum Gym.

It was confirmed tonight Intermediate champions Senan Kelly and Tony McGlynn will both turn pro under the banner and the Crumlin pair have been joined by Robbie Burke [2(2)-0] and Shane Roche [0-1(1)].

Kelly claimed the Intermediate light welterweight title last year while McGlynn won the middleweight equivalent back in 2016.

Both competed in the National Senior Elite Championships back in February alongside light heavy Burke who has racked up two knockout wins in Hungary over the past few months.

Featherweight Roche turned pro out of the away corner in Australia last year and brings his fight-anyone ambition home with him from Down Under.

The Boxing Ireland stable features the likes of Irish champions Eric Donovan and Carl McDonald, former underage amateur star Katelynn Phelan, and another Pete Taylor-trained fighter in super bantam Sam Carroll.

The team run by Stephen Sharpe, Dennis Morrison, and founder Leonard Gunning are currently finalising details for ‘Celtic Clash 9’ this Autumn and beyond.
