Boxing Ireland Promotions sign new Dublin puncher

Boxing Ireland Promotions have confirmed the signature of Dublin super middle Paul McDonnell.

The Collinstown puncher trains out of Steven O’Rourke’s St Michael’s Gym in Inchicore and becomes the first fighter from this outfit to link up with Boxing Ireland – with others such as Victor Rabei, Craig McCarthy, and Cillian Reardon being signed to Assassin Promotions.

McDonnell was due to debut last month on the big ‘Clash of the Titans’ card last month but was forced off due to a minor injury.

The big puncher comes to the ring with good underage and provincial success as well as some semi-pro experience.

Following his semi-pro venture, which he had believed to be pro, McDonnell would suffer from depression, suicidal thoughts, and obesity but has turned his life around over the past year.
