Boxing Ireland Promotions have made a major move tonight, signing four new fighters to bring their rapidly growing stable up to 10.

More signatures lie in the pipeline but tonight four men put pen to paper on deals with the re-emerging outfit.

All four boxers look set to fight on the Celtic Clash 3 bill at the National Stadium on Saturday September 9th.

Perhaps the most notable addition is 2014 Youth Olympic bronze medalist Michael Gallagher. The Donegal heavyweight has been out of competitive boxing for three years, but the Kinletter farmer will now return in the paid ranks. The 21 year old Finn Valley boxer, a club mate of Jason Quigley, also won European Schoolboys bronze and 11 Irish titles during a glittering underage amateur career

Another cruiserweight, Warrenpoint’s Declan Trainor [2(2)-1(1)] will also return to the ring following almost four years out. The Ulster big man has not fought since his Fight of the Year loss to Stephen Reynolds. 28 year old Trainor had intended to make a return to the amateur ranks, and indeed had been approved for the switch, put has now decided to go back to the pros.

Novice champion and recent semi-pro competitor Martin Quinn also makes the move. The gutsy Crumlin lightweight enters the game aged 29 with a big personality and big power.

Finally Cork featherweight Colin O’Donovan has linked up with the outfit. An aggressive fighter, O’Donovan is a former competitor at the Senior Elite Championships and is also Togher Boxing Club’s first ever Irish champion.

The quartet join Eric Donovan, Sean Creagh, Kieran Kenny, Aiden Metcalfe, Ryan Peake, and James Cahill in the Boxing Ireland stable.
