Booth: Burnett has the ability to become something special

BELFAST prospect Ryan Burnett has all the attributes needed to become a top quality operator, claims new coach Adam Booth.

Burnett has always been viewed as a potential star of the future in Ireland, but has endured a difficult time since he turned pro.

The Olympic Gold medal winner has impressed every time he has stepped in the ring but hasn’t been as active as he would of liked for various reasons.

The former Ricky Hatton trained and promoted bantamweight, who has two fights lined up in November, is now working with Adam Booth and David Haye and George Groves former coach is excited about the 22 year old’s potential.

“I am trying not to say too much, but I am very excited about this young man. If he can mature mentally and emotionally, as young fellas all have to do, he has all the ingredients to be something special,” Booth told IFL TV.

Burnett returns to the ring for the first time in a year on November 22 in Belfast and will be hoping to push his record to 5-0 when he takes on Valentin Marinov. He is then scheduled to fight in York Hall just 7 days later.
