The Bookie Batterer: Backing a Turbo-fast win for Flanagan

Top Pro Gif Ad
It’s a busy weekend in World boxing with big cards happening in America, Germany, and Wales.

With live boxing on Sky and Boxnation, Irish-Boxing.com are adding a little extra excitement for ourselves with an ambitious accumulator.

Accumulator #3

Friday
Sergey Lipinets v Walter Castillo
Method of Victory: Lipnets KO/TKO @ 5/6

Lipinets [9(7)-0] showed notable punch-power last time out against the highly rated Levan Ghvamichava in the fifth round of an otherwise close bout with a bodyshot. The Buddy McGirt-trained Russian is very attack-mined and could have another statement-making win here.

Saturday
Vijender Singh v Kerry Hope
Method of Victory: Singh KO/TKO @ 4/9

Singh is inexperienced, but is physically much bigger than Hope who has been stopped before at middleweight. Add in the fact that he is fighting in India for the first time there is a chance that the referee will be looking for any excuse to jump in.

Bradley Skeete v Alexandre Lepelley
Method of Victory: Skeete Points or Decision @ 5/2

Skeete is not a massive puncher, and while he may outsize the Frenchman, Lepelley is known for his durability (previously being signed as an opponent for Phil Sutcliffe Jr) and he could have the smarts to see the final bell.

Guillermo Rigondeaux v Jazza Dickens
Method of Victory: Rigondeaux KO/TKO @ 4/7

A risky bet considering how Rigondeaux can on occasion just phone in a unanimous decision performance. However, these points wins normally come against opponents with no ambition. Brave Liverpudlian Dickens will not be like this and will surely try to drag the Cuban maestro into a war, a-la Willie Casey, and all we can see is another repeat result.

Terry Flanagan v Mzonke Fana
Alternate Group Round: Flanagan 1-6 @ 10/11

A bit of an embarrassing World title fight, it should be an early win for Flanagan against the 42 year old South African.

Giovanni De Carolis v Tyron Zeuge
Method of Victory: Zeuge Points or Decision @ 5/4

Zeuge is a far superior boxer than the rough-around-the-edges Italian and the youngster should keep De Carolis on the end of his jab for a wide points win. Additionally, German judges are a lot less inclined to reward in-fighting than their British counterparts so it should be a scorecards win for the young super middlweight

Deontay Wilder v Chris Arreola
Alternate Group Round: Wilder 1-6 @ 3/10

Wilder has gone past six in his last four, but expect that streak to end on Saturday night. Arreola has looked poor in recent times and with just five weeks notice he wont be in the greatest of shape for the bout.

€10 returns approximately €563

Saturday
Terry Flanagan v Mzonke Fana
Group Round Betting: Flanagan Rounds 1-3 @ 3/1

Round Betting: Flanagan Round 1 @ 16/1
With a potential fight with Dejan Zlaticanin on the line, and the ongoing comparison with Anthony Crolla, expect Terry Flanagan to come out swinging and looking for an early KO. The longer the fight goes on the worse it looks for Flanagan and he himself knows that.

Friday
Sammy Vasquez v Felix Diaz
Winner: Diaz @ 6/1

Vazquez may be one of the hottest prospects in America, but 6/1 is a huge price for an Olympic gold medalist. Diaz is a late replacement for Luis Collazo, although he should have more ambition than the faded Mexican. Diaz will be in shape too, having previously been training to fight Levan Ghvamichava on Tuesday just gone before getting the call to appear in the Wilder-Arreola chief-support
