Big viewing figures announced for ‘Frampton Reborn’

Big viewing numbers have been announced for the ‘Frampton Reborn’ bill in Belfast last month.

Two-weight world champion Carl Frampton made his return to the ring following 10 months out on a bill at the SSE Odyssey Arena which also featured Jamie Conlan’s valiant world title challenge as well as impressive wins from Paddy Barnes and Jono Carroll.

‘The Jackal’ outpointed Mexican Horacio Garcia over ten exciting rounds in what was his first fight with a new team.

Since leaving the McGuigan family, Frampton has linked up with veteran promoter Frank Warren and the BT Sport platform – and the figures will certainly have pleased Frank.

The night brought in an average of 185,000 viewers on BT Sport 1. In addition, the card was available to BoxNation subscribers, however the numbers you viewed the fight through this platform are not publicly available.

They are currently the biggest viewing figures for boxing on BT Sport since they linked up with Warren at the end of last year. Indeed, they are over twice as large as the second most-watched broadcast, Billy Joe Saunders v Willie Monroe which brought in 78,000 viewers.

It should be noted however that figures are not available for Josh Warrington v Kiko Martinez, Josh Warrington v Denis Ceylan, or Liam Smith v Liam Williams 2.
