Better in all areas – David Lemieux not worried about Spike O’Sullivan

Spike O’Sullivan doesn’t worry David Lemieux in the slightest.

The former world champion believes he trumps the Cork middleweight in every department, including looks, and is extremely confident of victory this coming weekend in Las Vegas.

The bout has been built as a potential barnburner as two seek and destroy merchants trade leather under massive spotlight and with the carrot of a massive fight with the winner of the Gennady Golovkin v Canelo Alvarez main event being dangled in front of them.

Calling a winner has proved difficult, with O’Sullivan being underdog but being far from written off by anybody.

The Canadian, though, is adamant he will prove too good for the moustached Mahon man in one of the chief support bouts on the HBO pay-per-view cards.

“We’re studying Gary O’Sullivan very closely throughout my camp,” Lemieux told Yahoo Sports.

“We’re not worried. We’re very confident, my team and I, in what we’ll bring to the table against Gary. I’m stronger, I’m better looking, and I’m the better fighter.”

Lemieux’s confidence comes off the back of what he believes has been his best camp in a some time following a period of shoulder injuries and difficulties making the 160lbs middleweight limit.

Reports from Canada suggest the Montreal man goes in to fight week in better shape than in recent fights and he claims he is now injury free following a period of rest.

This all has the former IBF titleholder, who many still believe possesses the biggest one-punch power in the middleweight division, full of confidence that he will win in devastating fashion at the T-Mobile Arena on Saturday.

“It’s been a long time I’ve been waiting for a big fight like this. I’m extremely ready and I’m extremely excited. I expect — that I haven’t seen in a while.”

“I’m very prepared for this fight. It’s been a long time I’ve had a preparation like this. It’s going to be devastating.”
