Belfast Titanic Headliner CONFIRMED

The headline fight for the big Belfast bill this Autumn has been announced.

The Titanic Exhibition Centre plays host to a card televised on BoxNation on Friday October 5th, following up on two shows at the Odyssey and last Saturday’s massive Windsor Park event.

This afternoon it has been announced that the bill will be headlined by a heavyweight shoot-out between Liverpudlian David Price [22(18)-5(5)] and Dublin’s Sean Turner [12(8)-3(1)].

The big man match-up had been rumoured over the weekend and reported upon earlier today by Irish-Boxing.com.

It is a fourth big fight in succession for Shankill’s Big Sexy who, following a massive win over Arnold Gjergjaj, has lost his last two fights to unbeaten pair Filip Hrgovic and Nathan Gorman.

Olympic bronze medalist Price, who is a managerial stablemate of Turner, is embarking on his fourth comeback.

The 35-year-old Scouser was brutally stopped in the fifth round by Russian villain Alexander Povetkin back in March at the Principality Stadium. Price, however, forced the man who faces Anthony Joshua next month into taking a count in the third round and, despite his problems with punch resistance and conditioning, is still considered one of the heaviest single punchers in boxing.

A crossroads clash between two fighters returning from heavy stoppage defeats, there is sure to be a big stoppage in Belfast in seven weeks time.

The Price-Turner headliner is currently the only bout confirmed for the card but more match-ups will be revealed in the coming days.
