Ballsy Bazza shows guts again in Preston

Respected Belfast light welterweight Alec Bazza got the rounds in at the weekend across the Irish Sea.

Fighting in Preston’s Evoque Nightclub, Bazza took on unbeaten English prospect Ashley Peyton in a four round bout.

As expected, Bazza was defeated, losing a points decision (34-40) to the starlet who’s record now reads 7(0)-0.

The journeyman was sent to the canvas twice in the second round, but the rugged Northerner was able to rise and see the final bell – and avoid the mandated 28 day rest period imposed by the BBBoC on fighters who are knocked out.

Bazza, now 0-8(2)-1, is therefore still eligible to fight again this Saturday in London’s York Hall and show another prospect the ropes, this time debutant Darren Townley.
