Anto Cacace claims comeback win on DeGale-Eubank PPV card

Anto Cacace [17(7)-1(0)] impressively ended a nightmare period of his career in London tonight.

The Belfast super feather has been inactive for 14 months but returned to the ring tonight at the O2 Arena during the televised portion of the James DeGale v Chris Eubank ITV Box Office card.

The Andersonstown stylist came back in a testing fight, an eight rounder with South American featherweight champ Alan Castillo and claimed a points win.

Cacace got the rounds in registered his 17th pro win and his first since December 2017 on the high profile card.

The Pat Magee-managed, Sean McCullagh-trained fighter motored through the first few rounds, showing the work rate and sharpness he had promised as well as the quality that has him lauded in boxing circles.

The inactivity understandably took itss toil and the durable Argentine was able to take advantage as the fight wore on, but the Belfast talent got a second win and took the last to win handsomely.

THe final scorecard read 79-74 in ‘The Apache’s’ favour and he will now look to be back in the ring as soon as possibly, potentially as early as April.

The 30-year-old is planning a big final charge and is hopeful he can become an ITV mainstay.
