Another big American KO win for Spike O’Sullivan

Cork’s Gary O’Sullivan has kept up his run of recent good form with a quick knockout win tonight in Lowell, Massachusetts. The Leeside middleweight stopped David Toribio inside two rounds at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium near Boston.

O’Sullivan had his man down in the first before the bout was waved off less than 30 seconds into the second round with the man from the Dominican Republic unable to continue.

A career plagued with inactivity has been remedied in recent times for O’Sullivan since signing with Murphy’s Boxing. Tonight’s win was Spike’s fifth knockout win in less than ten months – in this period, the Munster man has needed a combined ten rounds to dispatch his opponents.

After the easy win, Spike improves his record to 22(15)-1(0) while the overmatched Toribio falls to 21(14)-16(9) with the loss.

O’Sullivan will now go straight into preparations for his long-awaited December 12th bout with Chris Eubank Jr.
