American Dream – Déise’s Dylan Moran set for Stateside debut

Waterford’s Dylan Moran [10(5)-0] has been handed an American fight date and will debut Stateside as early as this month.

The welterweight prospect penned an agreement with notable American promoter Joe DeGuardia and joined the New York based Star Boxing stable back in February.

Speaking to Irish-boxing.com soon after DeGuardia assured Moran will be moved quickly and toward big fights if he impresses.

The 24-year-old has now been handed that chance to catch the eye as he secured an American fight date.

The Kilmacthomas fighter was initially set for a March 9th DAZN-broadcast outing, but seen his Stateside bow postponed.

However, today Team Moran revealed one of Irish boxing’s Mr Nice Guys will fight in Upstate New York as soon as Friday June 28th.

Moran, who has recently being sparring British light middleweight champion Scott Fitzgerald in Tenerife, will trade leather at the Resorts World Casino in Catskill against a yet to be confirmed opponent.

Speaking about the American debut Moran said:

‘I’m just back from Spain where I’ve been sparring Scott Fitz all week to get him ready for Brian Rose. Now I’m off to Brooklyn to make my USA debut, it’s the stuff dreams are made of.

“I’ve been working long and hard for this and I’m ready to go and make myself known in the States . I’m living the dream and I’ve no plans to stop now.

“Contracts have been signed and the team behind me have been working hard to make this fight. Now it’s done I can concentrate on the task and let them do their thing.”

The Déise fighter goes into his American debut on the back of a comprehensive victory over former EU champion Gyorgy Mizsei Jr on the ‘Clash of the Titans’ card at the National Stadium in late March.

Moran is the third Irish fighter to confirm a Summer fight date today after Graham McCormack and Dominic Donegan revealed they would fight in Cork and London respectively.
