Frank Warren will stand by ‘True Warrior’ Carl Frampton

Frank Warren says he will stand by Carl Framtpon if the Belfast boxer decides to fight on.

Having declared a ‘big fight or no fight’ policy before his IBF featherweight world title reverse to Josh Warrington in Manchester over the weekend, there are some suggestions ‘The Jackal’ might call it a day.

However, if the fighter, who is just 31 and has declared a new found love for the game under the guidance of Jamie Moore, decides to fight on, promoter Warren, who also promotes Josh Warrington, will stand by his man.

The British veteran pointed out Frampton was there for him as he ventured back into the big time TV frame and claims will repay the loyalty shown.

“He is a true warrior and whatever he wants to do I’m there for him. I’m there and that’s it,” said Warren.

“We signed a new contract before the fight and if he wants to fight on I’ll support him 100% if he wants to go up in weight or whatever he wants to do, I’m there for him because he was there for me.”

“I have the utmost respect and admiration for him as a person and as a fighter.”

Loyalty isn’t the only reason Warren will back the Belfast fighter if he decides to go on, the Queensbury boss believes the former two-weight world champion still has the talent to compete at the top, but does wonder if the desire for a rebuild is there.

“Has he still got it in him? I’m quite sure he has but it’s whether he wants to do that. This is the toughest sport of them all.”

“It’s not like he’s a bad-living guy, he’s not one of those guys who blows up in weight, he’s a clean-living athlete but ultimately it’s his and his family’s choice of what he wants to do and I will respect whatever he wants to do and whatever that is, I’m with him.”
