Walsh is an average British champion says Tennyson’s coach

Ryan Walsh is one win away from winning the Lonsdale Belt outright, is a seasoned pro that has been tipped to move to the next level, but will be no match for rising Belfast puncher James Tennyson claims ‘The Assassins’ coach.

Tony Dunlop, of the Kronk Gym Belfast, believes it’s a case of a special talent going up against an ‘average’ British champion in the Copper Box this coming Saturday night.

Dunlop does admit the featherweight champion of Britain is tough and believes the fight will be the same, but is confident his charge will emerge victorious.

“I am very confident James will get the job done,” said the trainer.

“It will be a tough fight but I am one hundred percent confident that James will win. And to be honest Walsh is the British champion but he would not be anything special.

“He is an average British champion and I believe James will have too much for him.”

“We are preparing for 12 hard rounds but if we get the win sooner – then happy days,

“But Walsh is a tough boy, so we have to be prepared for the fight to go the whole way. James has prepared for anything that could happen and we are looking forward to April 30.”
