3 Irish boxers to fight for bronze tomorrow at World Youth Championships

Three Irish boxers will box from bronze tomorrow at the World Women’s Youth Championships in India following an impressive win for Belfast’s Caitlin Fryers today.

The Immaculata light fly gave an impressive performance as she saw off Tajikistan’s Sumaiya Kosimova in the Last 16 – in what was her second win in two days

The win sees her join Kildare light welter Katelynn Phelan (who received a bye), and Bray welter Shannon Reilly in tomorrow’s quarter finals.

There was no luck, however for the three other Irish boxers in action today as Labhaoise Clarke was forced to pull out with a hand injury while Mary Geraghty and Marguerita Nevin lost split decisions.
