Cully and Bradley exit World Youth Championships today

Gary Cully and Tiernan Bradley bowed out of the AIBA World Youth Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria today.
Cully, the current European Youth champion, was somehow adjudged to have lost on a split decision – a verdict which Irish coach Billy McClean described as absolutely shocking – to Ukrainian bantamweight Voldymyr Fedora.
And Bradley, who found the target with some big shots in the third and final frame with Australian lightweight Liam Wilson, lost on a unanimous decision.
Irish team manager Liam Brereton said that he was so incensed with both decisions that he did not want to comment.
Earlier today, EU champion Kristina O’Hara lost a close flyweight four-rounder with Great Britain’s Crystal Barker (England) on a split decision.
Johnny Joyce and Wayne Kelly will be in action in the afternoon and evening sessions tomorrow.
Joyce is on in the fifth fight in the afternoon session, which begins at 12pm (Irish time). Kelly is in action in the second fight in the evening session, which begins at 4pm (Irish time).
