Offers on the table from Sauerland and McGuigan for Nevin

IT SEEMS IRISH fight fans are not the only one impressed with John Joe Nevin’s Olympic displays, as numerous promoters have contacted the Silver medallists about starting a pro career.

According to the talented Mullingar fighters father and cousin Hughie Moyers,   offers from Barry McGuigan, who has expertly guided the career of Carl Frampton, and German Promoters Sauerland are already on the table.
Nevin returned displayed his in front of an adoring hometown crowd yesterday and it seems there are more than one promoter keen to give Mullingar a pro star to be proud of.

“I hope he turns pro now. He has it in him to win. He’s in talks with Germany and Barry McGuigan’s crowd in Belfast,” Morris told the Independent.

Indeed an offer from Germany’s biggest promotional company is rumoured to have been delivered before the London 2012 Games began.

“It looks like it could be Germany but there are more offers coming in now. He’s in talks at the moment. With Germany, he doesn’t have to live there full time. He would only have to go over for a month before the fight and could come home straight away afterwards. It means he’d have plenty of time with Marie and Martin at home,” he added.

Nevin, just 23, admits he will fight on, but hasn’t yet decided in what code never mind with what promoter.

“I don’t know yet. But you haven’t seen the last of me no matter where I go,” he said yesterday.I believe if I go professional I will be the world champion some day and if not I’ll hopefully be back here, but on a good performance. I’m not a bragger, I’m not a boaster, but on a good performance I know I can beat anyone.”
